What to Expect
About your Consultation
During this personalized one-on-one meeting, we will delve into various key aspects to gain a thorough understanding of your farm's current standing and future aspirations. This will involve discussing your specific goals, envisioning the future trajectory of your farm, taking stock of your existing assets, identifying the different sources of income your farm generates, and more. Additionally, we will thoroughly examine balance sheets to understand the financial implications and requirements involved in supporting two generations during the transition process.
What do I need for a consultation?
If you are stuck in the transition process or have worries about the transition process, reach out to AgKansitions. During the initial meeting you can bring as much or as little as you would like. Our goal is to determine what resources you need, understand who the involved parties are, what your timeline is, and what will make your time spent in developing your plan successful.
About the Process
During your one-on-one technical support period, we prioritize meeting you at a location where you feel most at ease, whether it's on your farm, at your kitchen table, or at a local extension office. This personalized approach aims to create a comfortable and conducive environment for our discussions. Our initial meeting serves as an opportunity to talk about your farm's objectives, long-term vision, and any challenges you may be facing. Additionally, we actively engage with your accountants and attorneys to ensure a comprehensive approach that addresses financial, legal, and generational transition considerations.
Who Should be Involved?
Initial consultations can start with just you. As we get further in the process, it will be important to open communications with anyone who will be living off the income of the farm or ranch during and after the transition process. This may include multiple generations and their spouses, business partners, or additional family, depending on your business. During the transition process, we will also work with your your accountants, attorneys, and other professionals.
