Are you a landowner looking for someone to take over the farm and transition to the next generation but unsure where to look? Let us do the work for you. By filling out the application we match you based on your values, goals, and management styles with young or beginning farmers interested in farming or ranching. Once we find a land seeker applicant we think would be a good fit, we provide information for you to review before proceeding with a potential connection meeting.

Are you a young or beginning farmer or rancher looking for land to start or increase your operation? AgKansitions aims to connect you with a landowner who is seeking to transition their farm to the next generation. All applications are reviewed, and those that align with similar values and goals are shared with landowners for potential connections.

How It Works

Fill out the appropriate application, depending on whether you are a landowner or a land seeker, thoroughly and accurately.

Schedule an initial consultation meeting using the link provided in the follow-up email. During this meeting, we will review your application to ensure the best potential match possible.

The Office of Farm and Ranch Transition will contact you regarding potential matches between land seekers and landowners.

Once a landowner finds a potential match they would like to meet, the Office will set up and facilitate meetings between both parties and make sure both parties have paid their application fee of $100 to Kansas State University Department of Agricultural Economics.

A plan and timeline will be developed with all parties to ensure a smooth transition.

Throughout the entire transition, the Office of Farm and Ranch Transition will continue to provide technical assistance.
